Concise, bold, and created with the idea that it's not enough to tell somebody a story, but they have to be entertained as well. This is a phrase that could be applied to Hammer Films, but also to this book.
Written by Sinclair McKay, who confesses to be a fan of many a Hammer film, this book takes a look at the history of Hammer Studios and the gothic horror movies that made them so famous. McKay also focuses on many of the better known films in the repertoire - the likes of the Draculas and Frankensteins and the other various monster movies.
And it comes with a complete filmography. I wonder if I can collect them all. Hmmm.......
