IMHO, the best comedy series ever. The best FOUR comedy series ever, in fact, and it also had a number of one-offs, with many recurring characters, including Baldrick, Percy, George and Melchett. They all go a little something like this:
Series 1: The Black Adder - Set in the late 1400s after the Wars of the Roses. Edmund is the Duke of Edinburgh, Baldrick and Percy are his hangers-on.
Series 2: Blackadder II - Set in Elizabethan times. Edmund is a Lord. Baldrick is his servant, Percy a Lord, and Melchett another very sycophantic Lord.
Series 3: Blackadder the Third - Set in the Regency period. Edmund is Prince George's servant. Baldrick is Blackadder's dogsbody.
Series 4: Blackadder Goes Forth - Set in World War I. Blackadder is an Army Captain. Baldrick is a Private, George a Lieutenant and Melchett a General.
There's also been the one-offs: the pilot episode (never shown in Britain), Blackadder's Christmas Carol, The Cavalier Years and Back and Forth.
My Favourite is the fourth series. Especially Steven Fry's General Melchett:

Have to say I like them all (((But))) Series 4 does crease me when I think of curtain lines in the script, especially when they start running low on rations. _________________ http://www.withintheshadowofthetree.com/

Ah, Yes. Baldrick's cooking. His coffee is mud, with dandruff for sugar, and saliva for milk. Thankfully he's never had to rummage around for chocolate sprinkles.
His filet mignon in sauce bearnaise are dog turds in glue.
His plum duff is a molehill covered in rabbit droppings.
His cream custard is cat's vomit.
He also does a good line in rat - sautée or fricassée. _________________ "It's ok to be different, it's good to be different, and we should question ourselves before we judge others." -- Johnny Depp

Oddbodd good choice dude. I like all of the Blackadders. Never seen them for year but they are fab! Had to pick 4 but loved 3 as well. They got better every serious.
Loved The Thin Blue Line.
British comedy, there's nothing like it. If it is so rubbish how come the Americans keep copying our series. Look at Man About The House, Robin's Nest and most recently The Office. _________________ Henry B

Well TNC I for one am still waiting to see any sign of intelligence, charm or personallity for that matter. None of those traits are measured by the amount of swear words you can fit into a single sentance. All that proves is that you can add tourette's syndrome to the list of pschological conditions you're obviosuly suffering from.
Have you sort help? I know its difficult but its a lot easier to deal with the problem once you admit you have the problem.
