Hi Everybody,
OK I guess this is more Blatant Self Promotion on my behalf (and apologies to Carl for taking up his server space on this) but I thought some of you might be interested in my little film project.
After the succes of Grande Hysterie in the Soundclick charts, one year in the top ten of Experimental Music and numerous plays on various internet radio stations, I decided to make a promo video to go along with it. I havn"t been involved in video production for a long, long time and never thought I would make another film, but I went ahead, did it and have had a whale of a time in the process.
The film is not finished yet, hopefully in March it will be complete and will be available as a free download from my Soundclick page and ITunes (as a video podcast) at the end of that month. In the meantime you can view stills from the video at the link below.
Like I say, I am really enjoying making this little short. The bit I am really enjoying is that it is costing me almost nothing to produce. 3D animation is coming from DAZ (a great 3D graphics and animation app that is free to download) and the video is being edited in Avid Free. The only money I have spent is on tape stock. I am very excited by the whole Video Podcast thing as I think it is truly a revolution and allows anyone with a bit of imagination to to create videos and distribute them to the world. That together with the fact that you can produce high quality video images with next to no financial outlay means (in my opinion) that we are on the verge of a complete paradigm shift as far as video media is concerned. These are exciting times.....

PS I would like to express my extreme thanks to Quentin Lovelace (the bald guy that you can see in the stills...... he had to endure many hours of torture for GH... "The Film" (torture in the literal sense... you"ll have to wait for the finished version to see what I mean). Curiously he seemed to quite enjoy it.... some of you might have seen him before. Kudos to anyone who can identify him. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/lefteyedominant
I've told you before this forum is as much yours as it is mine, you contributed your acting skills to the movie and that bought you as much blatant self promotion as you can add
Also the images from your up and coming music video look cool and very interesting, looking forward to seeing it when it’s finished.
Don't no if you noticed but the trailer is now on three, free viewing formats, you could upload your finished music video there as well as a download, that way it gets seen by a broader audience. _________________ http://www.withintheshadowofthetree.com/

Thanks for your generosity and advice Carl. You should really look into making your trailer a video podcast on ITunes as well...... from what I understand ITunes has the biggest market share in this new genre. Putting some video onto ITunes has the potential for reaching a huge market. Alhtough, as you and I both know, marketing a product even if it has some form of distribution, is a full time job in itself
I am probably being a bit previous publishing the address as the site is very much in construction. There are a few images there at the moment and I hope to get some more storyboards published by the end of the week (there is only one page there now) - short video clips will follow in the next month or so. It looks like the whole thing is going to be done using 3D animation (Daz Studio and Poser 6 - plus lots of post work in Photoshop and After Effects). Thankfully the audio track is only three minutes long so I won"t be rendering and re-touching images for the next ten years - maybe only five
PS.
I should point out that there is some nudity on the story board page (you have to look very, very, very closely to see anything that might cause the remotest bit of offence) - thought I better warn the sensitive ones among you _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/lefteyedominant
I had a look a couple of weeks ago and put an immediate link on the official web to your new web page, it's looking very good can’t wait to see it when it's finished.
I did nick a pic to give an example of your web page hope you don't mind, I also like the link you give my web page thanks.
I'll be in touch about when you’re next in this country...and this time I'm going to try and keep slightly sober don't want any more rabbits talking too me. _________________ http://www.withintheshadowofthetree.com/

Don"t mind at all....
This could be a very slow production as I am working on so many things at the moment. Hoping to get some video clips up there in the next week or so. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/lefteyedominant
The Grande Hysterie video is on hold at the moment as I am preparing for a live lefteyedominant performance in Sardinia. It is a really complicated set as the audience will be triggering audio loops (prepared by myself) depending on their position in a 3D space. It"s a bit like writing music for an interactive game, and very different to anything I have ever done before. Scary, scary, scary.
I will be posting various loops on my lefteyedominant page over the next few weeks to give a flavour of the event. You can find the first one at
- a very basic and short loop, but more will follow shortly.
I will continue to update the Grande Hysterie page even though the video is on hold (I have **** loads of stuff to put up there). Hopefully I will get some video clips up in the next day or so,
I have just got to figure out how to do it.
(full frontal male and female nudity at the GH site, so be warned )
After months of designing characters, sets and lighting I am finally getting down to doing some rendering (just so everyone can see how bad my animation technique really is). There is a very brief and jerky example of Grande Hysterie at,
