The Tripods. Made in 1984 and supposedly has more characters than in War and Peace, (so they say ), is The Tripods. I never seen it when it came out but always fancied it, so I was quite surprised to see the whole first season on Youtube. It consists of 24 half hour episodes. On Youtube they are broke down into three's, which if you want to convert them takes ages. Any hoo regardless of special effects, which I must say for 1984 TV were very good, I am at the moment thoroughly enjoying it. One complaint though is that episode 10 is not there, but there are some other smaller breakdown episodes that someone else has uploaded and once I've watched episode 9 I hope I can find it amongst those ????. But if I don't I'll just have to jump to the next episode cos I'm not waiting to find it. I vaguely remember reading the books when I was younger. After I got through the first one there was no stopping me. Can also vaguely remember the TV series but I never got into it at the time.

Sorry I could never get into Tripods, dunno it just did not work for me. I believe there are copies of the DVDs going about on ebay as a friend bought some awhile ago. If your using a PC try converting with SUPER (its free), it only takes a couple of minutes to convert flv from youtube to whatever you want. I tend to use this program to convert episodes of 24 to my phone (SE 3gp), it takes it down from a 355mb xvid to 60mb suitable mpeg4 in 10 minutes and is perfect for viewing on the go. find super here: http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html Its a bit of a pain getting it so you have to click the download link on the first page at the bottom, second page middle then finally the third page bottom. It is a decent bit of free software and has many options.
