Bond...James Bond

Who's your favourite?

Sean Connery - Played the first ever James Bond in Dr. No, and often considered the best by many Bond fans. Did six Bond films, then said he'd never play Bond again - until he played him in the unofficial Bond film, Never Say Never Again.

George Lazenby - Australian Actor with only one Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, to his credit.

Roger Moore - My personal favourite, and has seven Bond films to his credit, though his career after James Bond was nowhere near as prolific as Sean Connery's.

Timothy Dalton - Only two Bond films to his name, License to Kill and The Living Daylights. Otherwise remembered for playing something that looked like a cross between Robin Hood and a tree in Flash Gordon.

Pierce Brosnan - Touted as a candidate for James Bond in the 80s, but was unable to due to his contract for TV ShowRemington Steele. Starred in four Bond films, and was the first to work with Judi Dench as M, only a few years after Stella Rimington herself became the first female head of MI5. And it just occurs to me now how much Stella Rimington sounds like Remington Steele. Weird.

Daniel Craig - The first Blond Bond, with only one credit to his name, though he has signed up for more.
Robert DeNiro's Eyes

Sean Connery is the man but I have a liking for George Lazenby and thought he gave a better gritty Bond than the other popular lightweight Bond of that time, Roger Moore.

The later Bonds, I dont know, they seemed to lose it for me after Moores Bond but I suppose Brosnan takes the trophy, due to his good looks and very English attitude.

Daniel Craig seems to have got the Goldfinger style but I will have to watch the movie before any judgement.

as an aside,

Who is your favourite Bond girl?

Any hoo.

I can't choose as I liked them all. Think they all added different qualities to the character and over the years all these traits have somehow melded to create this new character. I haven't seen the new movie yet but maybe thats whats happend with the development of his character, he's sort of a combination of what people have liked about James Bond and a little bit of what they also want him to be.

Think I'll vote once I've seen the new movie, although I do stand by what I said, that I like them all for different reasons. Smile

Roger Moore's my favourite, he was always there when I was growing up and it was the highlight to go and see a Roger Moore Bond Movie at the cinema. Smile
