Hope it went well, three performances in two days must be shatarising.
I'm going next week to see it with loads of family ect, should be a good night

The weekend has been a bit of a blur. The first three performances went very well with only the occasional hiccup, which can only be expected in anything live. The audiences have seemed to enjoy it immensely, which is always a good feeling. I so want to get back out there and do it - Shame it's another six days before that happens again.

I'll post them after the panto so as not to spoil it for anyone who might go. (If you're a good boy, Carl, I'll let you have a feel of my big boobies )

This is from my MySpace blog, on which I chart the ups and downs of my theatre life.

Well, that's six months work overwith. Time well spent, I believe, though it seems like a long time ago that it all began. And in a galaxy far, far away - a galaxy where I didn't think I'd be able to be a pantomime dame. Six months and eight cast changes later, it's all somehow worked out, and it's been bloody brilliant.
We've now done nine shows, which is a record for me, in the space of 18 days. Doing them over weekends had its problems - getting back into the swing of things after five days off, for instance - but I think that's also helped to prevent us from getting sick of it. I'm at that point now where, although I'll miss doing it, I'm somewhat relieved that it's over. I'll have my weekends back and I won't have to bother with the vast impracticalities of women's clothing anymore.
Our last show, Blue Remembered Hills, for all its magnification of the uninhibited world of childhood fantasy and escapism, was a very sombre story and about as far from pantomime as you can get. Back then, pantomime was a genre of theatre of which I'd had little experience, so I must admit, I felt it difficult as first to get into the mindset of being completely over-the-top, vivacious and downright silly in equal measure. Over the course of the last few months, however, I believe that I improved dramatically in this respect. Much credit for this should be given to other members of the group (particulalrly our Director, Peter), very good people to work with, very patient and friendly, always ready to give constructive criticism without it feeling like you're being, well, criticised. To be honest, though, I'm not sure that I was quite as big or lively as I could have been, but maybe I'm just being overcritical of myself there.
So yeah, I mentioned eight cast changes. Some of them forced (illness), some of them down to people pulling out for their own reason, other due to other cast changes. These begun to happen right after the auditions and continued until the week leading up to the show. We also had to put up with the Arts Centre, or at least the theatre, not being available for a good portion of December, and having rehearsals at irregular intervals. These sort of things are disruptive, but I think that the group has coped very well despite them. This is a mark of a group who, albeit amateur, have a professional outlook to what they do, and I'm very proud to be part of such a group.
Onto the performances themselves, We had our mishaps there, certainly. The Friday night performance that was interrupted by a fire alarm and compounded by multiple technical glitches springs to mind, but again, we simply had to cope under such adversity. Aside from this, over the nine performances, I think all of the characters improved immensely. I certainly believe that I became better at what I was doing, and certainly more confident about ad-libbing and suchlike. By the final night, I think we had everything down to a tee, and from what I could see and hear, I think we put in the best performance of the nine.
I've had a great time doing this. I've gotten to know people in the group a lot better, and they've certainly learnt more about me in the process (I can think of one example - but that's another story). So have I, in fact. And I've learnt a lot more about pantos and theatre in general. It'll be fun to see what the next year has in store, so that I can look forward to more of the same. Even if I don't successfully audition for anything, I'm sure I can still enjoy it all.

Glad everything went OK, but I wasnt that impressed with it what I seen of it. Sorry for saying. I thought the Genie spoilt it, and the mis-timing of things.

I have some pics of it I might post. Lots of changes though from when I stopped going. I enjoyed it regardless though. Did think the Genie costume was a bit unusual and how big was Cuddle's head?
Anyway, hope you all had fun.

You asked for it, so here's the pic of me as the Genie:
