Heroes Season 3Well it's finally over. The season finale has been shown and thank goodness for that. I don't mean that in a positive manner either.
The first half of the season started off well but, over the weeks, became a big let down so was looking forward to how it would redeme itself. Did it do so, absolutely not! The fourth volume entitled Fugitives proved to be the biggest load of drivel I've seen in this genre for a long time. Not surprising a couple of the writers were sacked.
To start with, the change of powers for Peter and Hiro, what the... Why? more than likely because of budgetry reasons rather than the characters were too powerful. The plots started to get too complicated and uninteresting. When the finale arrived I was praying for a descent resolution to close the chapter. Well all I can say is tripe! Yes, the finale was tripe. Although it did have a couple of not bad moments, the way it ended was appauling. One of the mainstream characters killed off then another has to brainwashed to shapeshift into them to pretend they are still alive, what? Then another was killed off earlier in the second half and comes back as someone that can turn into water or was that the missing triplet. We'll have to wait and see.
All in all, this season has been the worst and it's not surprising the ratings have plummetted with terrible writing, as well as the episode order being cut to just 18 next year. Good thing they are only doing one volume. I only hope next season the show redemes itself and, if it does, the chapter will be appropriately named as it is called "Redemption." The writers need to take a leaf out of the Smallville book. The show just gets better every season even if it still has a few bum episodes.
To rate the third season out of 10, I give it a 2.5 and that's being generous.
