Johnny Depp - A Kind of Illusion

Johnny Depp - A Kind of Illusion (Denis Meikle)

This one's a must for all fans of Johnny. It gives an account of his early life and his progression from aspiring music star (an ambition he later fulfilled - and I have one of the singles to prove it) to Hollywood actor. It details each of his films up to and including Charlie and the Chocoloate Factory, the author also providing snippets from reviews, as well as providing his own critiques. Excerpts from interviews are used; it doesn't appear to be any form of authorised biography and in this respect only the book seems to lack. In fact, given the critiques of the films that the author does give, one would be inclined to think that he isn't a fan - only really giving Pirates of the Caribbean much of a good review (what does he know, anyway Razz ). The book also explores many of the aspects of his personal life, for instance his love of Beat culture and Gonzo journalism, his relationships, his children and those events that have given him notoriety in media circles - such as River Phoenix's death outside of his Viper Room club in 1993. Even Winona Ryder's kleptomania is given some coverage. It's worth a read, though, if you love Johnny - and has an extremely detailed filmography at the back.

Wouldn't bother buying it from Amazon, though - Music Zone had it at £2.97 last I saw. Very Happy

Smile If I was a woman I would fancy JD, Dad said the same, mum says she would dye her hair pink for JD, don’t know if dad would like that as he’s hardly got any. Smile

Why would you need to be a woman to fancy him? This IS the 21st century.

Mum says that the 21st century isn't for men it's for women and by the end of this century there will probably be no men because they won’t need us because science would have replaced ever needing a man...... Mum is stupid because unless they make robots that do the gardening, because not all woman like to do the garden, then who will do the gardening for them.

She was dead impressed though when I brought up the discussion about what you said oddbodd, I didn't tell her you had posted about this as she would have gone off on one if she knew I was talking about things like this on a forum, she doesn't even like me watching Zombie movies, in fact I hide them away with my other things that she would go off on one about.

I hope Mum doesn't rule the would in the future because she would be assassinated by loads of people. Smile

I agree with your mum Jonny but there's one or two things other than gardening a robot would need to do for me Wink

Hi Liz,

I wouldn’t squeeze your spot, wash it properly and pat it dry, then use a good spot cream, the one’s that cover it up are dead good, unless you put to much on that is and it makes you look like you've got a big orange spot.Smile

Confused Confused Confused Question

I asked Mum about a G spot and she went ballistic, started asking where I had heard such things, I didn't tell her because she would have found out about the KIt Kats.

I looked at google and I now know what one is Shocked It was discovered by the Germans and apparently all woman have them, but men have to find them before they work properly. I'm going to look more into these G spots they sound dead interesting, especially if I get married in the future to someone who won't let me buy things, if I can find her G spot she will be happy and she won't mind what I spend my money on Very Happy

You learn quickly, Jonny. I hope you've also learnt to look up things on the internet BEFORE you ask your mam about things in future Smile
