Star Maidens was shown on UK TV 1976
It's about a planet called Medusa ruled by women that used men as slaves...Two of the men escape to earth and give those gals a terrible time trying to catch them.

Hi Carl, some oldies there, you been busy.
for me the best of the bunch has got to be Robinson Crusoe 1964, this was the programme I remember with fondness, no doubt to the great themes and voice of Lee Payant, not forgetting the great Robert Hoffman.
But what happened to man Friday?
http://www.davidsemporium.co.uk/crusoe9.html
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0167516/
you may like to know that a "public domain" (cough) copy of all the episodes can be had on ebay for a modest sum, the best version has the 4 DVDs.
I found it a bit strange now, in this world of political correctness and anti racism, when he talks of Man Friday in a way that may mildly shock some of you today.
Still a worthy watch, despite the quality of the copy going about.
also look out for the version of the tune by Vangelis & Jean Michel Jarre, a great track.
Edit: also remembered from that time

Great 70s tunes and a great series.
There maybe a CGI version sometime but would it be the same without the late great Ed Bishop?

Crap I didn’t know he’d died, was thinking of him the other day cos he is in a film called "Funny Man" that happens all the time to me, I wonder if an actor is dead and then ..... any hoo... I agree a CG version would be good but not the same without Ed Bishop.

Yes, its sad he was a great actor. You will also find many actors from that series have also gone the way of the dodo, unfortunately time marches on.
I still don't understand The Prisoner In many ways, later UFO episodes seem to also have that strange 60s influence similar to The Prisoner and went off in a psychedelic trip, I thought.

The alternative beginning is BRILL.... you can see why they changed it though because the music was more of a reflection on the time... it really razzed it up though
The Japanese version is like Captain Scarlet meets Benny Hill, pleased we didn't have that version

Yes Joe 90 I remember wishing I had a RAT so I could programme my brain so as to make my school work easier, on reflection I'm so pleased I didn't at the time cos I didn't understand the actual concept of programming ones brain still a cool show though...... Thing is, even though we have so many different TV programmes that we liked, Gerry Anderson TV shows have touched upon most of us in someway even if it was a Benny Hill version of Captain Scarlet LOL

On reflection I'm not suprised every actor is not dead who appeared in that show, everyone smoked and I mean everyone even the babies in their cots
If you've seen the show you'll know what I'm on about, just goes to show what acceptable one day is'nt the next, COUGH.. COUGH

The Tomorrow People the first one 1973
I loved this show when I was 9 and they are all out on DVD as well, must get them. If your not gend up on the Tomorrow People heres a little taster, the first just gives an idear.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX_GUhOH-uI
The second (full story) was actually quite risky for it's time. The German Kids are mentioned as being 48 years old... thing is they would now be nearly 80 years old and the war wasn't just 30 years gone, you get the picture. It just feels like bloody yesterday I was watching this show and 34 years have past, more than actual years past the show from the actual bloody war.... Scary.
Any hoo watch out for Nicholas Lyndhurst ... he's very young.. still very skinny though.
The Tomorrow People: Hitler's Last Secret, episode 1
Another new fashion craze hits the world. It's not so innocent this time, when the kids start wearing Nazi uniforms... and acting the part. Unbeknownst to the world, Hitler is alive in an underground bunker, kept alive (and the same age as he was in the 40's) by Nazi youth. Mike gets caught up with the craze, against John's orders. Hitler decides to broadcast his message of hate all over the world, with Mike by his side. Who can stop him?
