Enjoy.

Is that David Beckam standing in for Pungin on the Previsualization page. The other one standing in for the Corn Elf looks like Ryan Giggs, not many fantasy movies can brag about having to world class footballers as stand in actors.

Yes, you are right it is David Beckam and Ryan Giggs but they could also have been eggs with faces painted on them, I could have used anything about the right size, scale and shape to give you the framing and focus.

Sometimes a stick with a paper cutout will do, just to tell people or the camera where the eye line is.

Animatics can be also be quickly produced using childrens toys. Denis Merin (Star Wars Special efex) would often before 3D previs, build a makeshift set and film all the shots he thought, using childrens toys, you could gather a lot of info that way and know what did or didn't work.

All movies that have complex elements implement previs, even if it's just to convey to the actors what is not really there.

If you keep checking the official W.T.S.O.T.T. page, I will be adding all the various types I used.

Using toys to test out shots is very quick and you don't need to draw to put over your vision.

I keep saying this, but better late than never.

Previsualization page two, The Wise One; Dying Scene, is now on the official web page.

Enjoy. Smile

Ah yes and make your web browser big.

Idea Just thinking about previs after looking at your new previs web page, even the lego idea I had could be used as the previs for the live action movie I want to make, even if it changes I can use it to put my idea over and say it's the previs for the movie.

I can understand why previs is so important, I could use the lego figures and work it all out even if I don't animate them, just filming them and adding some voices would probably be ok. Smile

That sounds the right way to go about it Jonny, that way you can make all your mistakes now and work out exactly what you want, yes some times you end up changing your mind on the day of the shoot, but you would only feel confident to do that if you knew exactly what you want.

Often directors have models built of the set they are going to shoot on, and with a very small camera work every shot out. For example Steven Spielberg was adamant for the movie “The Terminal” that he was going to shoot a specific scene a certain way and at a specific location of the large Terminal set. When he got the small model of the Terminal and used the small camera he knew the shot wouldn't work so he tried it somewhere else on the model set and found the perfect location upstairs near a newsagent stall.

Thing is you wouldn’t need a video camera you can just use a cheap stills camera, that lets you see exactly what it can see through the lens.

Good luck Jonny. Smile

I still remember when I went to see Elizabeth at the pictures - and the roar of approval from the blokes who's been dragged along by their girlfriends when Eric Cantona's name popped up in the credits.

Stan Collymore is in Basic Instinct 2, but then he was never world class. Except for being a world-class git.
