I was wondering how many people had heard of this before. I used to watch it as a kid in South Africa, but I'm not sure how much, if at all, it graced the small screen in Britain.
It's a series of 26 live-action faerie tales, presented (or produced???) by Shelley Duvall, known among other things for her roles in Popeye, the Shining and Frankenweenie. What so amazing about these shows is the number of big stars that grace them. A look through the cast list brings up names such as Robin Williams, Teri Garr, Jeff Bridges, Mick Jagger, Barbara Hershey, Christopher Reeve, Elliot Gould, Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen, Joan Collins, Tatum O'Neill, Carole King, Liza Minelli, Tom Conti, Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman), James Belushi, Carrie Fisher, Vanessa Redgrave, Vincent Price, Susan Sarandon, Klaus Kinski, Christopher Lee, Billy Crystal, Jeff Goldblum, Melissa Gilbert, Lee Remick, Eric Idle, Matthew Broderick, Ben Vereen, Alan Arkin, Leonard Nimoy, James Earl Jones, Harry Dean Stanton and Pam Dawber.
I've just managed to get the box-set off Ebay and am looking forward to it immensely - especially as I've found out that Tim Burton directs Aladdin!

I did actually see a couple of these and they are excellently shot, I even think I have one recorded on tape, I’m pleased you reminded my because the reason I taped it was because I was busy at the time and didn’t get to see it, so if I can find it in my cupboard of forgotten tapes I will.

I've watched a few of them today. Robin Williams as the Frog prince is fabulous - he's as manic as always. And one of them even seems to have Bishop Brennan out of Father Ted in it!!!!!
