Very Happy Yaa!!  Kill em all.  Cool

I must admit, I am a big fan of Star Ship Troupers and there should've been more live action stories made.

But! did anyone ever watch, Rough Necks Starship Troupers Chronicles, ? I would  get up at 6.00 am to watch it. It was fantastic, all CGI and it was ahead of it's time for CGI on a TV show etc. I only managed to record some on tape and buy a couple from the pound shop, again on tape. What I would give for it on DVD.

Any hoo if you get a chance to watch any of the episodes, I highly recommend it.  Very Happy

I agree Carl, more troopers plz..

As far as the Chronicles are concerned I think they are brilliant and I do think the 2nd movie reflected the CGI version and despite its lower budget it did pull it off ok, despite not having the blockbuster effect of the first movie. Only thing was it was not Rico's Roughnecks in that movie, damn shame.

The Chronicles were one of those shows that lost out to network cuts and the last four episodes were never made, so we never see the ending.

Eight DVDs were produced and consisted of 7 campaigns and one DVD where they cut some clip shows put together to form a a basic episode, merely reminiscing on campaigns gone by, the best clip show in my opinion was the "Court-Marshall of Lt Razak" They also put a single episode on that DVD called Trackers, which they missed off the other campaigns because they did not think it fit on either campaign either side of it. I reckon they just forgot about it.

Here is a link to a site that gives you much more info. http://misterhook.tripod.com/roughnecks/

most episodes are on youtube

move out!

Very Happy  Twisted Evil  Very Happy Yes I know, but doing it that way costs money Wink I was hoping that if I hint and someone had it, they might let me (borrow) their back up copies, you know how you are allowed to back up your original,  but not copy it for anyone else Very Happy  Wink

Maurader ***Spiolers***

ok after a few days mulling over this movie a couple of thoughts.

**spoiler**

Well I was sure that the movie would be done on a budget similar to the second and it was, made in South Africa some of the settings looked great, if you like sandy beaches, for me the CGI was poor and just passable by TV standards, but definitely not mainstream movie standards. The story was fine, this and the actors were on par with other SST movies most seem to be relatively unknown and all that you expect from this universe was there including the slightly dated info channel graphics "Would you like  to know more" sort of thing, but hey that's SST so you expect it..

Now despite all of the above niggles  the main problem was I think in the name of the title, its called Marauder, based on the name of the oversize battle suits worn by the troopers, similar in concept to the loader what Ripley sat in on ALIENS. Unfortunately there is a build up to the troopers getting this bit of kit but in the actual movie its really only touched on in the final battle. We dont see any more than this which is a shame..

So, for me it is the weakest of the movies but still watchable if your a fan. If you wish to see more Marauder action watch the Roughneck Chronicles and maybe if theres another movie, maybe they should sit down and watch the Chronicles to see SST done really well..

Finally, When are they going to introduce the skinnys in the real life version?

3 outa 5 (if your a fan)

I need a corporal. You're it, until you're dead or I find someone better.

Hope you leave some thoughts when you finally see the movie.

I also just realised where I seen Lola from today. she was T'pol from Enterprise and reading IMDB she has been in a few TV shows as well. I assumed they just cast her for her physique which is perfect for the part.

The DVD is out on 5th August, straight to video then?
