Well always being ready to challenge the very fabric of the cosmos I say it should change. After all if we don't question things and try expanding the boundries of what we know works how can we progress. If we never "fixed things that weren't broken" everyone would still be driving model-t fords and using those crappy old BT phones with dials.
I say change the links, after all who knows such a simple change could alter our perception of reality and open doors to things we never knew existed!
Either that or it will just make it easier for people to actually read the things

Look what happend in Battlestar Galactica and the trouble new technology got the humans into, they needed those old BT telephones now didn't they, it's the only way they can talk to one another without them pesky Cylons listening in.
