Anyone seen this off shoot from The X Files.... The Lone Gunman  I loved this program and I was so disappointed they only made 12 episodes.
Fans of the show were excited to find out that The Lone Gunmen were going to appear on the last series of The X Files but were shocked to find out that they were only on the show to be killed off  They died like heroes but that didn’t make that fact that they had been killed off right.
I think the reason the show didn't do well was because the Pilot, which was very good was stopped from being shown as it was too much like 9’11 around that time. So instead of showing the pilot which explained everything they stuck episode two on which confused people because everyone expects a certain something from the first episode of aTV show..... what ever...... I still enjoyed the 12 episodes in what ever order they showed them in and at least it was better than just having some of my favourite characters in The X Files, just now and again and hit and missy only in a few seconds in selected episodes. Long live The Lone Gunmen

Tom Clancy came up with the idea in the 90's http://www.public-action.com/911/clancy.html There's a fair bit of conspiracy speculation in that article which I'd personally take with a pinch of salt but the idea of using a plane as a missile isn't a new one. The Japanese proved how effective it could be in the 40s and that was just with small fighters. |

It wasn't so much the plane being used as a weapon but the political and propaganda aspect I was referring to, sorry I should have made that clear. Pearl Harbor is a perfect example though, again not for the use of planes but as weapons again, for political and Propaganda. It's a well know fact now that President Franklin Delano Roosevelt knew of the oncoming invasion because of info from Winston Churchill, he moved all his class A battle ships out of Pearl Harbor and just left the dregs and everyone now knows what happen next, America was drawn into a war, strange parallel with 9/11. |

Piper my dear, good to see you on the forum again,
I can see why you've been away, reading through all those links you've listed there must have kept you busy. As you say there are two sides to any story and that was exactly what I was trying to say by posting that link. It seems we're in a world of people all too ready to listen to the latest crack pot conspiracy theories and take them as gospel truth on little or no real evidence. I never said that I believed everything thing we've been told by the establishment about 911 but by the same token I'm not going to believe everything I hear about a mass conspiracy surounding it. Its my "intelligence" which leads me to question both sides instead of discounting one side out of hand because of a personal blinkered belief. If it really bothered me I'd dig deeper to try see if the truth surfaces, but to be honest I've got better things to do with my time. What I'm not going to do is go around telling people that I know for sure it was a the government because I can't back it up with real facts, the proof of the conspiracy is just as questionable as the proof against it. All any of this proves is there is more going on than it seems first glance. Glad you like avatar. A friend did it for me a while back. Yes it is bit different to my other avatar
I see you're still playing your little games. Some things never change... So what have you're spies learnt so far? Anything you didn't already know?

Surely that's the right thing to do with something like this. There are so many theories regarding 9/11, which cover so many different options, that the best thing one can do is either not bother with it, or look at accounts from all sides. It's very unlikely that the population in general will ever know if it WAS some kind of conspiracy, or whatever. To sit on the fence is therefore, the intelligent thing to do - not taking any single account for granted. Proven, see? |

It amazes me how much faith some people put in some of these conspiracy theories, especially when the so called facts used to back them up are as questionable as the things they are trying to debunk in the first place. Personally I could care less about any of this stuff. I prefer to concern myself with things in the here and now which I actually have some influence over. Not an event which happened 5 years ago in a country thousands of miles away, which may or may not have involved a government that I had no influence over being in power. Yes I sympathise with those who lost their lives and their families but there is nothing we can do to bring them back. As for my intelligence, I don't feel the need to prove it to anyone these days. The last time I felt the need to prove it was when I got my degree which allowed me to get a very good job. Now I just let my work speak for itself. Piper, you may find once you grow up a bit more and venture into the real world, that intelligence isn't actually measured on how well you can play stupid little games or use cheesey American high school phrases to try and back up your point. |

It was ashame that they didn't do much with the Lone Gunmen. I've got a few episodes on DVD and thought they were canny. Was not happy when they killed them off in the X-files.
As for this 911 thing, the threads Piper posted are interesting but, like all things of this nature, you have to take with a pinch of salt. America is run by George W Bush after all and we all know what the W stands for so anything is possible I suppose. As stated there are two sides to every story. There's more to 911 than any of us will ever know but would never make assumptions until viable evidence is presented. Look at the latest about the video of the so called plane hitting the Pentagon. Doesn't make sense and looks doctored. Then again it could be the Government trying to protect the public. I do actually know someone in the Pentagon and they told me a couple of things but can't say. All I will say is that the conspiracy minded people might want to be a bit more open minded. To be honest, all though it's all interesting, it should be something that should be left. It happened almost 5 years ago it is best left alone as we'll never know the truth. Piper you should meet this bloke we know called Alan. He is well into this 911 conspiracy theory. By the way Piper, don't judge people's intelligence by this sort of thing. An intelligent person doesn't jump to conclusions at the first bits of evidence or without listening to both sides of the story like you seem to have done. Sounds like you're being a bit narrow minded. You might want to start listening to the likes of Oddbodd and Nige or even me when I'm being serious and you might learn something. |
