This illusory body

May the longtime sun shine upon you, all love surround you, and the clear light within you guide your way home.

What is the true nature of the mind... ?

Is it an instrument of measurement and illusion ?
hisomuhito

Is the "mind" not just a label we have attached to whatever it is which contains our thoughts..

That then begs the question, "what is the true nature of thought ?"

Also, where do emotions fit in?
flywithoutwings

I feel the `mind` is much more than thought... and includes emotion.

Is thought not merely one aspect of mind ?... one which measures and communicates this illusion.

I grasp, of course, but there is far more to this than that.

But surely emotions exist within the whole body not just the mind.
Anyone who has had their heart broken will know what I mean.

Arrrr ! Sad

I know exactly what you mean Hisomuhito... emotions do seem to exist within the whole body.... though especially in the heart.

Are the body and the mind not two aspects of the same thing... one visible and the other invisible ?

There haven't been any PMs Sylvester, but if you've seen Piper's latest post you'll see I've had a bit of a cold reception of late..

I don't think I'd say they were the same thing. If as I said earlier the mind is the container for our thoughts then the body is the container for our mind. If they were the same thing then damaging the body would damage the mind however it is possible to have a damaged body and still have a perfectly healthy mind. The reverse is also true.
