Transformers Trailer

I saw this trailer the other day and I was blown away by the look and the way the movie looks like it's been treated (very Seriously)

The trailer on You Tube does it no justice but will give you an idear.

Personally the hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I first saw it, think it's going to be a kick ass movie.

the new teaser trailer for director Michael Bay's Transformers, opening in theaters on July 4

This truly looks like complete rubbish. Stupidly dark - nowhere near colourful enough to be anything like the transformers as we know and love them. Moan moan moan.

oddbodd and me must be just as clever as each other because The Transformers should be all colourful and made for people about 8 years old to about 15 years old, it should'nt be made for everyone to enjoy.

I saw the trailer the other day at the cinema with some of my friends and they thought the movie looked amazing, they said just like X men they hadn't dressed Wolverine in yellow spandex (whatever that means) they are thick because I think just like oddbodd has said it should look just like the cartoon and not realistic and made for adults to enjoy aswell.

Jonny your friends were trying to tell you that comics and cartoons don't always translate the same way in the (movie) real world. Wolverine for example from the X men would look stupid dressed in his yellow spandex outfit, yes it works in the comics but if you want to give the characters some reality you change them. The same applies to Transformers, these are serious film makers and no way are they are going to spend 150 million to make a movie that doesn't look realistic and doesn't try to give some realism to the characters, realistically if they made the movie like the cartoon they would be committing financial suicide.

Now if they made GO Bots (that would be different) Wink

If they can do a good, colourful, enjoyable job with Spider-man, they can do it with X-Men or the Transformers.

Jonny is right, superheroes and the like are for kids, or for adults with an inner child or nostalgic urges. They should be made for that audience, as the comics/cartoons/toys originally were, not for people looking for a serious sci-fi/action movie.

Nicholas Hammond, Christopher Reeve, Adam West, Lynda Carter, Helen Slater and Tobey Maguire, among many others, can all carry off the spandex look and still give a good performance. No reason that Wolverine shouldn't be allowed to do the same.

I remember seeing the Masters of the Universe film when I was a kid. I LOVED the cartoons and the toys, but the film disappointed mostly because they didn't look right. It's not the function of a studio to adapt things to their liking. They will get a better response from the public if they submit to simple impressionism.
