Ok, while at work I was reading about that legend of the Hartlepool monkey, you know the one they hung because they thought it was a French spy, for anyone unfamiliar with this legend, read here: http://www.thisishartlepool.co.uk/history/thehartlepoolmonkey.asp

Now then having a strange mind I loosly had what I thought would be a great scene idea for a new movie I jokingly called Pirates of the Caribbean.. Off the NE Coast, ok that bits my idea also, there isnt going to a movie called that before you start getting excited..

What it is.... you must be in JDepp as Jack Sparrow mode at this point and have a bit of imagination, so humour me.. Remember its just a scene and maybe looks better in my head than I can describe it here.

So.. I was looking at the story of the Hartlepool legend of the monkey, that got hung..

Then I thought of that darn monkey in the 3 POC movies its always around Jack, possibly helping him out of some close shave.

Then It hit me what a great short scene it would be in a POC movie to have some locals dicuussing this monkey because they are unsure of its origin and wondering wether to hang it or not.. It goes something like this..

We cut to JS doing his usual mincing walk along a seaport gangway, hands out as if balancing.. He hears some commotion over to his left. Turning his head in that half surprised way that he does, he then catches sight of this strange lynching, JS then goes upto them and in a surprised quizzing way he speaks to the locals "Err".. "Im confused"? says Jack, "what are you doing"? "We think he is a French spy, we are going to hang him, listen he cant speak English" they say.. "Nonsense" says JS "its a monkey", puzzled looks start to form on the locals faces.. One local speaks out and words go back and forth between him and JS, "tisn't".. says the local, "tiss" says JS nodding, "tisn't".. says the local...........

UNFORTUNATLY thats as far as I can get so can you come up with a good ending for this scene? Will the monkey live? will the monkey hang? Will Hartlepools reputation be saved? you decide..

JACK is staggering along the beach, holding a bottle. He looks into it, then tries to pour remaining drops into his mouth. He then hears a commotion from some way down the beach.

He walks over to the source, where a ceremony appears to be taking place. He stands next to the BURGOMASTER, putting his hand on his shoulder.

Jack: Woss goin' on?

Burgomaster: French Spy. Caught this morning. Bastard's about to be hung.

Jack (looking closely): Spy?

Burgomaster: Yes. His ship was wrecked over there (points to the sea).

Jack: Spy? Looks...looks like a monkey, to me.

Burgomaster: A monkey? I don't care what nationality he is, see, he's wearing a French unifrom.

Jack: (Peers more closely at the monkey) It might be wearing a French uniform, but it's not a Frenchman, or any sort of man. It's an animal, savvy?

Burgomaster: Quite right, damned savage, wouldn't answer a single bloody question. So he's being hanged.

Jack: Look, Mr...warrever-yer-name-is, I don't know what they teaches kids in this place, or how many Frenchmen you get around here - but trust me, and I'll bet me last bottle of rum on it (looks at bottle, realises it's empty, and shrugs)... me last bottle - that's not any sort of bloke - it's an animal from Africa. And It's bloody cute, I'm not gonna let you kill it.

Burgomaster: Haha, nice try, friend, but I know a Frenchman when I see one. Besides, I don't need your rum, there'll be plenty on that wreck, just waiting for our salvage operation later today.

Jack: There's rum on the boat?

Burgomaster: Gallons of it, I expect.

(Jack looks at the boat. He looks at his bottle. He looks at the monkey, which gives him a sad hopeful look. He repeats this sequence. Then he spies a boat, and grins).

Jack: Well, Providence smiles on me once more! Jack has found the rum!

Burgomaster: Listen, friend, that boat is Crown property, and if you're thinking of raiding it yourself... (Jack draws his cutlass, the Burgomaster backs off).

Jack: Listen, sunshine, when Captain Jack Sparrow wants a bit of rum, Captain Jack Sparrow will get his rum, Savvy? (He cuts the ties binding the monkey down). And nobody, but nobody, spanks my monkey. (Turns to the monkey) Come on, matey, we're gonna get pissed! (They jump in the boat and Jack sails away.)

Now then, we just need some of Carls actor friends and a day at the beach and Im sure we could have this mini scene canned, what you say Carl?

Yes with a puppet monkey and oddbodd dressed as JS we could have loads of fun doing that sketch ....it would be poifect for the YouTube audience .... watch this space or should I say youtube links for the forums presentation of .......... we need a fitting title Question

Do it Carl, it would be brill, is oddbodd a Jack Sparrow lookalike?

As you say perfect fan fiction for Youtube, I looked and nothing is mentioned in a similar vein.

Trust you to come up with some perfect pirate icons, fantastic..
