Carl,
I was looking at the new photograph of the Wise One that you have put on the official home page, he is standing in the woods. I really like it by the way but it got me thinking, the movie is called Within The Shadow Of The Tree and I've done the quiz thing on the games page that says the tree is 5 miles high, so where is it , have we seen it yet I'm just very curious, there is a shadow shape on the movie poster but I'm not sure if thats the tree.
Also all the tree city images show a city in a tree, so there must be a big tree

Well as it happens thats exactly what I keep meaning to ask everytime I come here (where is the tree, is there a tree?) but never remember until I seen jonnys post.
Thinking about it... Im unsure what Carl is upto here so better not say anything just yet.. sorry Jonny.

The Tree.The Tree,
Yes the shadow on the movie poster and the shadow behind the Wise One on the home page of the official web page is the Tree in question.
I will be doing a page that shows the evolution of the tree, from story board to designs through to a gigantic model that was built and shot but then built again inside the computer and done again because of physical restraints that are impossible to do in the real world.
In fact, thinking about it, I will start producing the Tree page next week and try and have it online the following week, because the tree model that was build deserves a showing, it was unfortunate that the model was only used for the night time storm shots and not the day time ones, so this will be a perfect opportunity to show what was built.

Hi Carl, I was unsure what you were doing regarding the tree, while answering Jonny last night It crossed my mind that you may be keeping this for a later date and maybe a trilogy final or something, so maybe keeping it "hush hush". It also crossed my mind that computers may have something to do with it. LOL..
Out of the early work this is my main memory of WTSOTT for obvious reasons, it was so huge!
I think when seeing this it gave anyone walking in that Carl meant buisiness in the movie world. It was not a Blue Peter five minute job, thats for sure.

Devils Tower. When I started building the model tree it was just like the scene from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind when Richard Dreyfuss builds Devils Tower, everyone thought I was nuts.

Funny thing is and my friends and family will tell you this, whenever I yawn I do it to the five notes from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, it drives everyone crazy but it's something I have always done since I saw the movie, guess I am nuts after all.

Nuts.I think that's why we both became friends, we both had a lot in common, must admit though I never ran around shouting "Polly Dolly! Polly Dolly!", now that is nut's

Not only did I run round chanting "Polly Dolly! Polly Dolly!" I remember that I also worked out a dance routine to go with it, and I forced my little chums to dance to the chant
I am sure that our nuttiness is why we became friends..... but who wants to be sane in a world like this.
Talking of nuttiness, how is the Acker Bilk impersonation coming along?

Touche`
Thanks for bringing that up I haven't done it for a while but I have just tried it now and I can still make the sound like a clarinet and do an Acker Bilk impersonation, what a claim to fame
In comparison to your "Polly Dolly! Polly Dolly!", my clarinet antics do render on the realms of insanity......Touche`

You also have to whistle the theme music to The X Files without any disturbance.

Just as a matter of interest, I was beginning to wonder over the last week why traffic had increased a lot to the Within The Shadow Of The Tree official web page, as I've not pushed or added anything for a while, so I did a "Within The Shadow Of The Tree" in inverted commas search and to my amazement several more web pages are covering the movie.
PosterGeek.com and a German company," Movie- Player" who have translated some of the synopsis and also have an embedded link to the YouTube trailer.
So evidently, I now feel guilty and will be adding more stuff over the next few weeks, like...
The press pack with postcard, the one I've used for the London Fantasy and Horror Festival and other bits and bobs still not added
Link to link page.
