OMG! i thought I start this off to see if anyone that watched it and what they thought.
Well we have the first act to go from the first 12. Did Kandy Rain deserve to go? I think they did. Didnt like them really. Them and John and Edward were the worst, so how did the twins get through I never know.
That Joe is dishy, and want him to win!
TNC 2
sen tis s*** was bac on. thos buny girls r f*** sexy!
Philster
Well this year, X factor has strong contenders. I have to disagree about Kandy Rain going. It should have been Rachel or Lloyd. They were the weakest by far! Even John and Edward were canny and I can't stand them.
I'd like either Stacey, Miss Frank or Joe to win.
Fantasy Fan
This year has to be the best! Love Ollie, and Danyl oooow! he's dishy! He's going to win!
Liz
Jamie all the way woot woot
Cant wait to see what he sings tonight !
Chloe
Oh NO!!!! Rikki's gone! How on earth did that happen?
Would have thought Simon picked Rachel as she has been in the bottom two for the last two weeks. How on earth is John, and Edward still in it? i thought this was a hard week for the boys though. Joe was fab! Think he could win it.
Philster
Have to agree Chloe about Rikki. How the hell did he get booted off?
Rachel should have gone. She's been in the bottom two for the past two weeks. She's crap! I know what you mean about John and Edward but they are entertaining. I'm amazed Lloyd stopped in. He murdered 'Bleeding Love!' I thought it was going to be Rachel and Lloyd in the bottom two. They were the worst two. Joe was fantastic! I think all of the contestants were good. The boys/men definitely had the hardest job this week. Danyl was OK, Ollie was great and Jamie was excellent. Rikki was weak but not as bad as Lloyd.
Was it me but did anyone think Whitney was not that good? Cheryl outstripped her by a mile.
Liz
Yes, I felt a little sorry for Rikki Joe gave me goose bumps ..even more than my Jamie lol AND OMG THE TWINS ! they cause more arguments in my house then anything else grrr they are so annoying !!
Yes Phil I agree, I thought Whitney wasnt all that, she was all me me me.
I feel sorry for whoever dressed her ...probably looking for a new job now

Dear Grim Reaper,
So far this year you have taken away ....
my favourite singer ...Michael Jackson
my favourite actor ..Patrick Swayze
my favourite chef ...Keith Floyd
and
my favourite boy band member Stephen Gately
So I just wanted you to know my favourite twins are John and Edward
Liz
OMFG...I was shocked, It should never have been those two acts in the sing off...how the hell did that happen !!!!
I'm Jamies biggest fan but thought it was wrong he got away with not doing a 'big band' song
Rachel was fantastic this week and looked fab
I was dissapointed with Stacey...dont think she sang very well !
Joe, Olly and Lloyd sang well
Lucie ..fantastic
Danyl was the best this week, absolutely brilliant!!!
and Miss Frank looked and sang great
The other two i've got nothing to say, Im not wasting my breath !
Chloe
I know what you mean liz.
How on earth did Danyl, and Miss Frank get into the bottom two?
The twins should have been there by far, and Jamie should be shot for doing a song that wasnt big band.
Have to say Joe was fab. Best by far. I think he could win it now.

On a more serious note, I too was shocked about the bottom two. However, when it went to deadlock, I was praying Danyl would go. He annoys me just as much as the twins.
I'll be interested in what is said in the meeting today!
Well after this week's shows, the competition is open. I wouldn't be surprised if Jow wins! My thoughts on everyone's performance are:
Groups:
Miss Frank - they were brill. How on earth they got kicked out is beyond me.
John and Edward - need I say anything. They were OK in previous weeks (and I mean others were worse) but this week...OMG! (You sound terrible, look awful but you're going to go a long way, possibly and unfortunately.)
Over 25s:
Ollie - he was good. Suited the Big Band theme.
Jamie - good performance but very disappointed they broke the rules and gave him a song that wasn't big band.
Danyl - overrated and over performed. Wish he had of been the one to go but there are far worse in the competition.
Girls:
Lucy - Not bad but there's something about her I'm not happy with.
Stacey - excellent as always. Love her to bits and her quirkyness.
Rachel - lot better than previous weeks but think she will go in the next couple of weeks.
Boys:
Lloyd - how on earth is he still in? I'll give him credit for doing what he is doing at his age but he's not a very good singer.
Joe - need I say more. Fantastic voice! Can see him in the final.
After all that has happened and the buzz on the Net, etc. don't be surprised if Simon hatches a plan to bring a couple of the others back.

X Factor: Simon Cowell's 'worst nightmare' John and Edward could win show
Actually this is suppose to be rubbish. According to another official source the twins were in the bottom 4. Rachel came top. However I find that weird after she was voted off tonight. She was good this week, and cant understand how she was bottom. Surprised about the bottom two again.

Yeah, I heard that too. Sure we'll find out the truth at the end of the series.
Have to say I wasn't surprised Lloyd was in the bottom 2. It's been a few weeks coming. Give him credit for trying tonight when he wasn't well. Rachel was good this week and can't understand why she went. I thought sure Danyl would be in the bottom two as he was rubbish last night. You could tell he was about to give up. Although I don't think that much of him compared to others, I think that was nasty what one of the papers said about him being more hated than Hitler! Ollie was very good this week.
Liz
Had a feeling Lloyd would be in the bottom two, but not Rachel, thought it would of been Danyl, even though I think hes one of the best singers ...Just wanted to give him a Bless
But this got me thinking if it had been Lloyd and Danyl in the bottom two wonder who would of gone
Chloe
What is Simon talking about. Having a go at Joe. He is far the best male singer closely followed by Ollie. Danyl isnt that good, and he proved it last week. What on earth was Louis on tonight. He wanted a slap! That Jedward were rubbish as always. I was disappointed in Jamie, and Lloyd.
I think Lloyd, and Jamie maybe in the bottom two this week.
Philster
Well f*** me backwards and call me a bi***.
Those two twins are still in! Simon had the chance to get rid of them and he didn't. Lucy gone, how? This year is full of surprises. She was brill on Saturday! Thought it would have been Lloyd and Jamie. Lloyd was terrible again this week. Even though Jedward were in the bottom two and they should go, I did like their rendition of Ghostbusters. The production was cool. My only fear is that, from talk on X-rtra Factor, they may give John and Edward a proper singer's song next week. The vocal coach said that John and Edward can sing but it's their gimmick to fool around. Surely, they can't survive another week now.
I still think Joe will win because he has been flawless from the start. Like to see Lloyd in the bottom two with Jedward or Danyl next week.
Carl B Harrison
Like me a lot of people won't be watching the X Factor again after tonight, it was ugly TV at it's worst and Simon Cowell should be ashamed.
Im still fuming. Theres lots of chat around the forums, and a lot of unhappy people.
Lucie was great! How on earth did she end up in the bottom two? Jedward needs to go before this show gets any worse. I think I may join you Carl in not watching as this show is a farce now.
Carl B Harrison
The reason I'm not watching it ever again isn't because I wanted Lucie to win, she probably would never have won because there are so many other better singers in the competition, but my reason is... does Simon Cowell think we are idiots ! Some of the best singers in the competition have been in the bottom two due to the public making mistakes over voting and luckily for them the judges have stepped in and gave them another chance, which is what at this point in the competition the judges are there for.
In poor Lucie's case, Simon had done nothing but slag off the twins and he did say Lucie's performance was good and she had found her niche, so to speak. But then on Sunday knowing quite well the results of the vote, turns on her and blatantly changes his opinion !
Well ... Mr Cowell ain't making an idiot out of me no more and by what I've read and have seen on TV this morning, a lot of people are going to do the same.
I'm A Celebrity starts next week, I'll just have to get my buzz from that !
Philster
I have to say something before I explode.
Can I just say I'm sick and tired of hearing people saying, "I'm not going to watch anymore." Of course you will, this happens nearly every year with this show. If a certain person goes over someone else, people spit their dummy out. Yes, Jedward are bad singers but who is truly to blame for them still being in, Simon, NO. Granted he has slagged them off over the past few weeks but he let the public have their say and what happened, Lucy pulled the least votes. So who is to blame, simple, the public. If people want an act to go, they need to vote. However, with all of the vote rigging accusations, most people won't.
What will people watch instead of The X Factor, Strictly Come, fools if they do. Who wants to watch a bunch of celebrity rejects stumble over their feet. Actually, it's just as bad with it contraversy, remember last year and John Sergeant. Don't even get me started with 'I'm a Has-been Celebrity, Leave Me Hear To Try and Jump Start My Career!'
If Jedward don't go this week, bet they will the next.
If you are saying you are not going to watch it, don't, like I've done with Spooks now the ba****.

Ive been looking at the comments about Saturday on a few forums tonight, and Ive been killing myself laughing at how serious people are taking this. I have to agree with some of what Phil said. I mean come on, this sort of thing has been going on from day one. Youll always get your novelity act to get the public's back up for entertainment value.
Contraversy always comes with the show. Some samples of this are: Sharon making comments about Steve Brookstein going to win, and that the results were fixed. A later series she threw water over Louis. Also, Louis walking out. What about when Louis picked The Conway Sisters over Maria. Same thing as what's happening with the twins. If people stop watching it because one of their favourite acts goes out and there are lots still left, thats silly, especially as that's saying Simon Cowell has won his mind games with the public. A bit like throwing your rattle out of the pram. The twins are never going to win, and they have been kept in for the entertainment value like Chico. He should have gone earlier but was kept.
Changing the subject slightly, yes Phil I know what you mean about Spooks. I guess youve stopped watching it, because a certain character has been written out of it last week, but that's typical of that show. I was going to stop watching it when Adam went, but then Lucas came in, and I like him, so he was a good replacement.
Back to X Factor, if the twins don't go this week, Lloyd will surely go, or one of Simon's. I still think the final 5 will be Joe, Stacey, Jamie, Danyl and Ollie. Danyl will win. Like Simon said, hes the best singer.

Yes, I remember all of the contraversy and all of the reality shows have it, not just X Factor. If people stopped watching them because of it then what would you watch. Most of TV today is reality, therefore, everyone should stop watching and we can get some new dramas, comedies, etc. as long as they are not remakes.
As for Spooks, I'll start a new thread and explain why I have decided not to watch it and it isn't just because one of my favourite characters have gone.
FF what do you mean Danyl is the best singer, he's rubbish! I'd rather watch John and Edward and that's bad. The best male singer is Joe by far. He's been spot on each week and he doesn't have a crocky voice like Joe Cocker which Danyl has. If he wins this year, the show is definitely fixed! Ollie, Stacey and Joe for the final!
Having spoke to L, or FF in the forums case, i think i may still watch it, because she said that why should something like that spoil my Saturday. Its much better than Strictly, and thats had its criticisim this week as well, and I cant afford to go out on weekends at the moment. Phil is right about all reality shows of this type having contraversy. Was it last year when John Sargent who was rubbish was getting all of the votes? At least he knew how far to go and pulled out. I think Jedward should do the same, but I doubt that will happen.
Chloe
Well Im shocked again at this weeks result.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Jamie was voted off! I cant believe it! Lloyd wasnt as good, and he stayed. At least Joe is there, and Ollie! Them twins how much longer can they last. They killed a Queen song by rapping to it, OH NO!!!
Philster
To be honest Chloe, I'm not shocked that Lloyd and Jamie were in the bottom two. They should have been last week! At least this week I got it right.
Jamie was the better of the two but he wasn't very good. I think his song choice could have been better. He should have sung something like One Vision or Tie Your Mother Down. His voice would have been good for those.
Again, Joe and Stacey were fantastic! If they are not in the final, I'll eat my hat. Out of Simon's three, Danyl was the better one. Ollie wasn't that good either! I can't believe I'm going to say this but Jedward were canny. Best they've done! Granted, their timing was a little out and a bit annoyed that they rapped but I thought it was funny with the Ice, Ice Baby take on the song. It was nice to see something other than just everyone singing for a change even though I hate rapping. That pratt that jumped on stage should be shot!
Louis is starting to get on my nerves as well with his bloody rule book! Danni, talk about being a miserable b**** because two of my acts are gone...
I think Lloyd will definitely go this week then Jedward!
Chloe
Yipeeeeeeeeeee! Those horrid twins are gone FINALLY!!!!! Thank goodness we'll never see them again.
I was surprised Ollie was in the bottom two with Jedward. He was brill! Should have been Lloyd, but he was good this week as well. Jedward were the worst by far! It was a close week this time. Joe was the best though. He was fab!

I have to agree Chloe on most accounts with what you said. I'm a bit disappointed John and Edward are gone but it's best for the competition. I did say this would be the week they'd go a few weeks ago. As for the bottom two, I was kind of expecting John and Edward but I thought it might be either Lloyd or Danyl. Lloyd was better this week than previous weeks but he still is a week singer. Danyl murdered Careless Whisper and whoever did that arrangement should be shot! Stacey wasn't bad this week. She was definitely one of the best ones. Joe was amazing this week. If he doesn't win this competition, it's an outrage. Ollie could still win it but I think his voice isn't as good as Joes. If Danyl wins, I aint watching X Factor ever again because it would be a fix. Then after the reports I've heard about his outbursts, don't think he will now.

Well it is finally over and a new champ has been crowned.
Good old Sandancer Joe saw off Ollie Murs and won! Have to say he was the overall winner. Ollie gave it a good fight but didn't quite make it in the end.
Let's hope Joe doesn't end up like the Steve Brooksteins and Leon Jacksons.
If you're interested, have a look at the results from all of the weeks leading up to the final and see who came up top. You'll get a shock at some of them.
Congratulations Joe and don't say I didn't tell you so because I did from the beginning, for the 6th year.
Chloe
Wow! Looking at the stats Olly was really lucky to get to the final. If it had gone to Deadlock when he was in the bottom two he would have been out.
Shame he didnt win as I really liked him. His performance of The Climb was better than Joe's, more passionate! Joe was good, and he deserved it, even though I would have liked Olly to win.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but would Joe's song not have been available in MP3 format too? I love you, Chloe.
It does indeed say something of the mentality of the hundreds of thousands who bought it. Fact it, most people who like the song already have it on some format or another, and might not even have bought it (as I didn't). But many people, who object to the way that Simon Cowell, et al, have such control over an industry whose mainstream is becoming much less original, have opted to buy the song to make a point. And they couldn't have done it with a more apt song - one whose central theme is anticonformism, and by a band whose name screams antiestablishment.
Of course, whichever song is better is purely a matter of personal taste. The Christmas number one may or may not reflect that. It probably doesn't. No doubt RATM's detractors will say that the song has reached number one thanks to numerous people jumping on the bandwagon and not caring about the song (though I do see the irony when this is juxtaposed with my earlier comment on anticonformism). I only hope that such detractors are also aware that the same has been true of every X-Factor/Pop Idol success in the past.
To say that McElderry should be number one is possibly inaccurate. In my view, the number one in any week should be the most talented act (again, this is subject to personal taste) - not by the person who has had more TV time in the run-up. There are plenty of fantastic acts out there - I personally know singers with much greater talent than McElderry, but who wouldn't fit Simon Cowell's narrowminded formulaic requirements. This is why I don't bother with the charts any more. They are no longer indicative of what is good music, just of what sells well.
Philster
Congratulations are in order to RATM for not only topping the charts and claiming the Christmas number 1, also, for showing how much the charts is manipulated and that we have 500,000 plus mindless manipulated morons. Although, I suspect most of the downloads have been multiple ones BUY individuals, especially as it was much cheaper.
I am a little disappointed that Joe didn't become number 1 as I think he is a good singer. Definitely one of the better X Factor winners and hope he doesn't not fall into the trap of Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson. However, I am not against healthy competition and it proves that X Factor can be beaten but come on, a song like that for Christmas number 1... It's the worst Christmas number 1 since, Mad World; since Save Your Love; since There's No One Quite Like Granma.
Might have known the forum's pantomime twats, I mean twins (Oddbodd and H) would be gloating over X Factor getting beat. As they say ti** come in pairs. Didn't realise they could in triplicate with TNC adding to it. Maybe he can be the co** while the other two are the ti** (LOL.)
Anyway, back to being serious. What I find funny is those morons that downloaded it and think they've scored a victory won't be having the last laugh. The funny thing is the really winner is Sony, yes SONY. They'll be having the last laugh. Why, because they are responsible for distributing both songs so if you haven't been manipulated by the Cowell machine, you get the RATM machine. From the forums I've seen, lots of people hate the song but just downloaded KITN because they didn't want X Factor to claim number one. That's petty and pathetic! If you're going to do it, do it for the right reason. I don't mind if people like to listen to that sort of music, it's up to them but I certainly wouldn't listen or buy that s*** to stop someone getting the Christmas number 1!
The thing I can't understand though is how KITN can be allowed to be in the charts. It wasn't officially released as a single (that doesn't mean it has to be released on CD could have just been a downloadable single which a lot of bands are doing) just released as a downloadable album track. Therefore, it shouldn't warrant its position in the singles chart and be null and void. Through this sort of thing, like Oddbodd, I gave up on the charts long ago so not that bothered whose at number 1 any time of the year, let alone Christmas. I like to listen to music and only buy it if I like it.
So those that were responsible for RATM getting to number 1, MUGS!!!! Let's see if it is still there next week.

Oddly enough Phil you've just agreed with me. Carl's comment about bring back Cliff Richard is in essence the whole point of this RATM campaign.
I've not actually heard either track so can't comment on which one is a better song. But I'm backing RATM because its a sign that the people of this country want the Christmas number one back the way it was.
It used to mean something to be a christmas number one. In some way or other it captured the spirit of the season. Whether it was a feel good track like Cliff used to do, a charity single or just something completely cheesy and silly, it was all part of the christmas tradtion. And whether it was cheese or feel good the Christmas number ones used to be memorable.
Thanks to x-factor the Christmas number one has just became part of the advertising campaign for the latest mediocre product to roll off the Simon Cowell production line.
As for being manipulated by Sony, that may well be but at least RATM have done the decent thinng and donated the proceeds from the sale of the single to charity.

I fear your question has already been answered, Chloe. The point in backing the song was nothing to do with the song itself. It could just as easily have been Grandma, We Love You, about as far from RATM as you can get. The point was to put a stop to the monopolisation of the Xmas number one by the X-factor establishment.
Something pointed out to me recently is that over the past few years, the X-factor has been little more than a three-month advertisement for the next Xmas number one. I'm sure fans will argue - probably rightly - that it's more than that, but that's certainly an effect that the programme has.
This kind of exposure, which then carries throughout the media, influences a lot of people - it's a sort of indoctrination; a mild propaganda. The months of hype make a song or person popular, rather than their individual merits making them popular. It's therefore - ironically - the shallow narrowmindedness of all those people so easily influenced by the hype that has brought about the need for the RATM campaign.
I'm not going to defend your rails against H. He'll defend himself if he wants to; in any case, I'm not going to change your opinion of him regardless of how hard I try, However - I'll point to the line in my signature. We must question ourselves before we judge others. Shallow and narrow-minded he might be at times. As am I. As are all of us. Question yourself before you choose to berate anyone on this forum, and ask if what you see as undesirable or wrong in others might not apply to you - and be objective. Denial is not a good thing.

Yeah, Nige has FINALLY replied so we can have a civil debate/argument like we used to now.
Maybe I do agree with you, oddly. It wouldn’t be the first time but that depends on how you interpret my comment. What I used to like about the single charts was the unpredictability of who would get the Christmas number 1. There was always a challenge and not just a 1 or 2 horse race. There would always be about a minimum of 4 or 5 songs that were possible chart toppers. The only problem was some of them were quite shocking. Alas, it hasn’t been like that for some time even prior to X Factor. In the late 90s, Spice Girls dominated Christmas number 1s which was predictable. In 2003, there was only a two horse race with Mad World and Christmas Time. Granted both songs were not that good, Christmas Time was the more appropriate but was pipped to the post by Mad World; one of the most depressing number 1s. The following year was Band Aid 20. Again, fairly predictable it was going to be number 1 for Christmas even though it was challenged by the first X Factor winner’s song. However, in 2005, Simon Cowell’s second X Factor winner grabbed the number 1 and, thereafter, X Factor did so until now. Granted it took the challenge from the charts but at least is stopped crap getting the top spot at Christmas and they were acceptable songs. Granted this p***ed a lot of people off, hence, the RATM campaign.
I understand the purpose of the RATM campaign, why the song was chosen, etc, etc, etc. but it isn’t a suitable number 1 for Christmas and would never back a song I didn't like. Although the campaign may be sound in theory and even though it was successful in stopping X Factor, if you think about it, in practice it did the opposite and only did what X Factor has done in previous years but worse. It proves how easy people and the charts are to manipulate by one song. Also, it proved by this particular campaign what mindless morons some of the general public are. You even said it yourself Nige that you hadn’t heard either song but backed RATM to just stop X Factor and you weren’t the only one. That proves my point about mindless morons. Don’t take offence by that comment. It is a fact not an insult. Lots of people who downloaded the song/backed the campaign did so, not for the song but, out of pettiness, shallowness and bitterness just so X Factor didn’t get the top spot even though they hadn’t heard the song or hated it. That’s pathetic! Like in politics when people don’t like a government so they vote for a party that will knock them out, even if they don’t know there manifesto, etc. When that party gets in and screws the country up even then it’s ‘ah, wish I hadn’t of voted for them now.’ Luckily, the singles chart isn’t as crucial as elections but the principle is the same. No one in their right mind would support a campaign of this sort. It’s not like I’m against heavy rock and the message some portray. Hell, I like Pink Slip by The Unbanded. The chart is supposed to be about the music not some propaganda campaign. My comment on Cliff was I would rather have him back as number 1 than people abusing the charts, even though his songs were cheesy, they were Christmassy which is only right. It would be nice to see the charts get back to what it used to be and not used in a political/manipulative way but it’s never going to happen. Don’t care who gets to number 1 any time of year as it is meaningless to me now. I still like to listen to music though.
For the record about Simon Cowell, I don’t care much for the guy, especially the way he treats some of the winners/artists and it seems he is only in the business to make a fast buck, but I respect him for what he has done to get where he has today from where he has come from. It’s no different to what SAW done in the 80s. At least SC doesn’t use the same blinking backing track for every artist. People fail to realise what X Factor is supposed to be about; that is to give people a chance that wouldn’t normally get opportunities. This is why I don’t mind X Factor but hate it when things get too political which it has done in recent years. For those that slag off the artists that win the show are only one hit wonder types, you’re sadly mistaken. Not including this year, X Factor has only been on 5 years and, out of that, only 2 have failed – Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson. Shayne Ward has sold millions of singles and is still in the business. His new album is out next year. Leona Lewis, say no more. Last year’s winner Alexandra Burke (best thing to come out of X Factor) has been incredible in her first year and think she’s wiping the floor with Leona. Let’s hope Joe continues the success. For those that think I maybe manipulated by SC and X Factor, you don’t know me. Most of X Factor music I find is enjoyable and not because I’m told to like it.
By the way, congrats to Joe for knocking off RATM off the top spot and selling over 70,000 copies more. Shame he didn’t sell that many last week which would have kept RATM off the top spot. Enough of me ranting, hope you get the point.
