Its one of my Fav movies, I hope they dont F*** it up, please god make that matrix bloke get it right this time. Personally I think they need someone with more worldly presence to do justice to Michael Rennie's Klaatu

Klaatu barada nikto!

I was going to ask what other movie uttered these fine lines, until I came across this while making sure I was right, seems there's more than I thought.. ( I was thinking of Army Of Darkness).

Very Happy I was tempted to sneek one in the spells for WTSOTT....but thought narrrrr  Twisted Evil  better not ...did however, when the small one casts his first spell in Pungins house, slightly lean that way with some of the words at the end using Wizards names Very Happy

Don't know if anyone noticed Gort at the end, but here is the still from the trailer. As you can see they seem to have kept the iconical shape that made Gort what he has and always will be to me....up till now what I've seen of him he looks ok  ! ... Watch this space, as more pics appear on the world wide web.

Very Happy It still looks interesting, think they have incorpirated some of the old idears but added a whole new concept to the enormity of the situation . Cool

Disappointed

why do we have to have smartass kids in these remakes, I just hate em.

Gort wasted

Klaatu not engaging or even interesting.

John Cleese part wasted

Still slightly better than War Of The Worlds (remake) but no epic

ohh, and WHY do we have to have smartass kids in these remakes, I just hate em

Stick to the original.

I did think that they were trying to make a point about what the human race has done to the environment, to me it's not a bad point to make, and one that was probably not as obvious in the original, but I don't think they made enough of it.  It was more trying to be a Summer blockbuster type of movie.  And it got some effects done well, but it doesn't add much to the film as a whole.
