Just something that Carl and I were discussing last night. Anyone remember a live-action Ghostbusters TV series?

The characters were Eddie Spenser, Jake Kong and Tracy the Gorilla - I now remember finding it amusing that the gorilla wasn't the one called Kong - instead the gorilla had a really girly name. The things that stick out for me with this TV series are the theme tune and the running gag lampooning Mission Impossible - "This tape will destruct in 5 seconds" - which saw the gorilla counting to five on his fingers before being blown up.

What I didn't know was that this show was made in the mid 70s, before Probably before it was a twinkle in Harold Ramis' eye.

After the Ghostbusters film came out, there was a cartoon version of it by Filmation. Similar characters and some cool baddies - anyone remember Prime Evil ("Ghost-BUNGLERS!")?

Yes I did like this show......The Gorilla Tracy was the most memorable character, always loving and pleasant until crossed then Gorilla antics would ensue. I always liked the hat with the propeller on, I checked and they only made 15 episodes, I thought there was more.

1 Sep 06/75 The Maltese Monkey
2 Sep 13/75 Dr. Whatshisname
3 Sep 20/75 The Canterville Ghost
4 Sep 27/75 Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
5 Oct 04/75 The Flying Dutchman
6 Oct 11/75 The Dummy's Revenge
7 83007 Oct 18/75 The Worthless Gauze
8 83008 Oct 25/75 Which Witch is Which?
9 Nov 01/75 They Went Thataway
10 Nov 08/75 Vampire's Apprentice
11 Nov 15/75 Jekyll and Hyde - Together For the First Time
12 Nov 22/75 Only Ghosts Have Wings
13 Nov 29/75 The Vikings Have Landed
14 Dec 06/75 Merlin the Magician
15 Dec 13/75 The Abominable Snowman

The animated one is also very good, I have it in my Filmation collection I may talk about it one day.

Not so clear but better than nothing is the intro to the animated series, pity I couldn't find the live action intro that would have been good.
