I've had Abba song in my head all day. Not bad if you like Abba, as I do. If you don't and a friend is trying to drag you along, it's probably not a good idea to go.
The plot is straightforward enough - a soon-to-be-wed young lady, living on a Greek island with her mother, who runs the local hotel, wants to invite her father to the wedding. Unfortunately, she's never met him. And she's not sure as to which of three possible gents it is. So, without the knowledge of her mother, she invites all three. Much hilarity ensues.
It's predictable in places, and the acting isn't RSC, but this film is more about the music. Plenty of Abba tracks crammed into it, showing Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan to have some good voices on them.
It's very much in the chick-flick genre, but it's entertaining and good fun.
And it knocks The Dark Knight into a cocked hat any day of the week, I don't care what H says.
