In the Spotlight this week is the 19th Annual CINEQUEST FILM FESTIVAL SCREENPLAY COMPETITION, delivering an astounding opportunity to maverick screenwriters and transforming dreams into reality through discovery, international recognition, and career development.

Renowned worldwide as a unique and cutting-edge force in the festival community, Cinequest is ahead of the curve in numerous film realms, including its dedication to discovering emerging talent in screenwriting. First-rate, career-launching prizes are awarded to all of the Competition's ten finalists - and not just the first place winner - helping all selected writers further their careers.

The top ten screenplays go to a final jury comprised of industry producers and development executives, and are later presented to literary agencies, film studios and Hollywood producers. The Competition's highest honor is the Maverick Prize, which grants the winner a $5,000 USD cash prize and a one-on-one consulting session with a top producer. The Emerging Maverick Prizewinner will receive a scholarship seat to the prestigious Lew Hunter Screenwriting Colony, valued at $2,500.
