I read a story last week which confirmed to me that Hollywood had totally given up on original ideas and was only interested in remakes/re-envisioning old movies. If the idea of remaking Predator wasn't bad enough the rumour was that they were planning a remake of the original Alien movie.
The full story is here:

However I've just read this story which sheds a bit more light on what is actually going on. Its actually going to be a prequel.

I've personally always wondered about the space jockey who's bones you see in the pilot seat of the crashed alien ship in the original so don't think in principle its a bad idea but whether it is actually good news or not I guess we'll find out once it hits the screens.

Bloody disgusting is the right words for it.  What is up with Hollywood?  It's not surprising cinema goers are dropping.

A prequel would be interesting, as long as that's it.  A remake, big NO, NO but wasn't AVP supposed to be a prequel?  I've just learned that one of my fav horrors has been butchered and remade in the past week.

A couple of years ago, Rob "Toss Pot" Zombie decided to butcher the first Halloween.  Now he's done it again.  He's remade Halloween 2, called H2.  What the F***!!!!  This guys wants his balls cutting off.  Fine, he remade the first one which totally killed the original concept so how the F*** will they do the second one.  Well, I'll doubt I'll watch it.  Why can't people leave classics alone.

Just found out about a few more films which Hollywood have decided need to be brought up to date but I strongly suspect all they're going to end up doing is ruining the reputation of the originals..

First up to be destroyed..
Short Circuit...

I'll be very surprised if they manage to maintain the charm and enjoyment of the original..

And if that wasn't bad enough. One of the all time classics of the 80's...
Highlander!!
Reading the review of the script I don't like the sound of it at all.. Evil or Very Mad
